Family Ties

I am a little overwhelmed. (In a good way) I have been working on my family history for several years and came across someone working on my bio dad's line. I was shocked, I never thought I would find anyone working on that line. I found her number from the family history website and called her. When we spoke, I found out that she is my cousin's mother-in-law. She gave me the number to my cousin. I was thrilled. You see, I have not seen or spoken to that side of the family in 30 years. (It is a long story, that I won't bore you with)

I called my cousin and we ended up spending over 3 hours on the phone catching up. He then gave my number to his sister and we spoke for another hour, plus she send me some pictures of the family. We promised never to lose touch again.

We are even making plans to have a reunion. I have no words for how grateful for the Lord answering my prayer. I feel like a piece of me was missing for so long and it has now been restored.

I just wanted to share my great news with you all.

That's incredible. Great job. I'm happy that things turned out so good for your family. I have been incredibly blessed to find lots of information about our family history. Trouble is, I don't always know what to do with it. I mean, I put it into the PAF and then, I usually get tired before submitting it. I need to do better. Thanks for bringing my attention back.

I love Family History! I'm still a novice, but there is truly something so satisfying when you find what you are looking for! Congrats on the connection we were able to make with your loved ones!

What a wonderful happening for you and your family !

I kinda bagged F.H. after I got to our great grandparents...although, our family history specialists are still trying to light a fire under my bottom and get me going again !

I have always been interested in family history, but always came to dead ends, so I gave up for a while too. It wasn't until my mother-in-law started finding a bunch of stuff, that I got back into it. She started finding out stories and facts about my family, not just names and dates. They came alive to me after that, they were real people with real lives. I actually feel a connection to them now. I have been able to do a lot of temple work for them. That has been an incredible experience.
Don't give up.

That IS wonderful news and I am happy for you. I can hardly wait till I die (WELL - NO- yes I can wait!!) but I mean won't it be fun to see all our relatives that we didn't get to know. Not to mention the blogging buddies.....sheesh, lots of visiting, but hey, I've got Eternity to do it. (unless I end up with those "gnashing teeth" people who probably won't get to see anyone) damn
