My Hubbs... An American Idol?

Sooo.... my good friend April wrote me yesterday with a funny thought. She thinks my husband looks like Elliot Yamin from American Idol. This is not the first time she has said this to me. So, to prove her point, she sent me this collage. I don't see the resemblance.

After I was done laughing, I wrote back to her: "You KNOW I will have to put this on my blog!"

I need some other opinions...

Opinions

89% of respondents had the opportunity to vote in the last election. For the remaining 11% that did not vote their reasons were 1) Uninterested in candidates or politics, 2) Not registered to vote, and 3) Not a US citizen.

According to the data, 62% were satisfied with the outcome of the recent election (Figure 2). This is high considering that a large percentage of respondents voted for the losing candidate ticket (Figure 3). If fact, 25% of those that voted for McCain were still satisfied with the outcome of the election.

Almost half of respondents (44%) thought that the media was biased (Figure 4). Of those that believed there was a biased information in the media, 75% of that the media was biased against John McCain (Figure 5).

Lastly, the country appears united (71.8%) that the biggest priority for Obama will be the economy (Chart 6).

I got a call about a week ago from an opinion polling company about the recent election. I am not sure how many people were polled. They sent me the results, and I am sharing them with you.

What do you agree with and disagree with?

Free for Another Year!!

We just did our taxes last night and thankfully it wasn't too painful. We owed, but not as much as last year.

Thank goodness for our mortgage and TITHING!!!! It totally saved us from owning a bunch of money!!!!

Since we don't have children (the IRS frowns on claiming cats as dependents) we don't get those tax breaks. Could you even imagine the deductions the Duggar's get?!?!? 18 kids! They must look forward to tax time.

Optical Illusions or... You've Just Licked a Frog

My cousin sent these to me in an email, I just love stuff like this so I thought I would share...

Read out loud the text inside the triangle below.

More than likely you said, 'A bird in the bush,'! and. ......
If this IS what YOU said, then you failed to see
that the word THE is repeated twice!
Sorry, look again.

You probably read the word ME in brown, but.......
when you look through ME you will see YOU!

Do you need to look again?

What do you see here?

This one is quite tricky!
The word TEACH reflects as LEARN.

You may not see it at first, but the white spaces read the word optical, the blue landscape reads the word illusion. Look again! Can you see why this painting is called an optical illusion?

Count every ' F ' in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

(SEE BELOW)

HOW MANY ?
WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.
The brain cannot process 'OF'.

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 'F's' on the first go is a genius.

Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Show this to your friends. It will drive them crazy.! And keep them occupied
For several minutes..!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

I am absolutely shameless about promoting my birthday, (which I do believe should be a national holiday).

My birthday is on Sunday and I won't be posting again until after February 16th. Since I will be turning 36, my birthday wish is to have 36 comments by the end of the day on Sunday!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love,

Tammy

The Best Life Lesson Came From Johnny Lingo

The "down-low" of Johnny Lingo is all about how we see ourselves.

Mahana is the daughter of Moki and is always in the shadows and hiding because her father and everyone else calls her ugly and worthless and she believes it.

Johnny Lingo (very handsome, very rich, all the women want him) comes to their village to take a wife. Now on this island, the dowry for wives is paid with cows. The married women are bragging about how many cows their husbands paid for their dowry. 3-4 cows is good, 5-6 brings a superior wife.

Johnny Lingo meets with Moki to bargain the dowry for Mahana. Everyone jokes that Moki would be lucky to get the hoofs and tail for Mahana. To everyone's surprise, Johnny Lingo offers 8 cows for Mahana!!!! Very unheard of.

Moki faints and then agrees on the price.

Months later, Moki visits Johnny Lingo and Mahana and he feels cheated after seeing Mahana.

{{cut to Mahana}} She is BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT, GRACEFUL, OUTGOING.

The moral of the story is: The world, or in this case Mahana's father and whole village, would have us neglect our eternal spirits and have fear and misery fashion our outlook on life and our perception of ourselves

But, due to Johnny Lingo's (Heavenly Father) 8 cow dowry (the Atonement), nurturing and love, Mahana was able to respect her body and spirit, and was finally able to experience joy in this life and perhaps a fulness of joy in the life to come.

May you be able to love yourself as the Lord loves you.

Happy Valentine's Day

I CAVED

Yep. I finally caved to peer pressure. I now am on facebook. If you are, lemme know and we can friend each other! I am still learning how it works, so any help would be appreciated.

Gross Foods

OK, I was blogstalking at lunch and found this post at Shark Bait's Blog about food issues and thought I would post one myself. Yes, I am shameless, but I am giving her props!

Foods I can't stand:

1. Mushrooms - cannot eat them. Haven't been able to since I was a kid. They are slimy and gross and they are FUNGUS!! The same way Athlete's Foot is fungus!

2. End Milk - You know that little bit of milk that sits on the bottom of the jug, it's not quite enough to make a full glass. Ugh.

3. End Bread - Too dry. No flavor, yuck.

4. Okra - Boiled, fried, it's all gross.

5. Caviar - Never had it, never will. What is the difference between that and what you get at Floyd's Bait and Tackle besides the price tag?

6. Wet Yolk Fried Eggs - I love them scrambled, but cannot do fried, unless you break the yolk. With "sunny side up" the eggs are ALWAYS snotty. I am gagging just thinking about them.

7. Peaches - If they are peeled, I am fine. But that hairy skin?!?!? I shudder. Really.

8. Smoked Oysters - The hubs loves them on crackers, but they look like big, gray loogies.

9. Cantaloupe - I LOVE, LOVE LOVE the smell, but cannot eat them. I can do watermelon, but only in small doses.

10. Those "Bloomin Onions" - Greasy, nasty abominations, and the dipping sauce, don't even get me started.

11. Black Licorice - Nuf said

12. Scallops - They are rubbery and horrid.

What about you? What foods are gross?

Grumble Grumble Grumble

UGH!!!!! The hubs and I went with some friends to see Coraline at the movies. We unknowingly sat in front of some high school kids. Our first clue of what was to be a constant annoyance was some girls who were talking all through the previews. No, they weren't whispering and trying to be polite, they were talking FULL VOLUME.

I thought they would stop once the movie began. Was I ever wrong. They continued to make their STUPID, USELESS comments. I finally turned around and shushed them. Did that work?!? OH NO!! My friend turned around and had to tell them to be quiet. THAT finally worked.

I thought the ordeal was over.

Then these other kids started making stupid comments for the rest of the movie. WHY didn't I say anything you ask? They were a little to far away and I would have had to scream at them.

ANYWAY... Needless to say, I was irritated and found it very hard to really enjoy the movie.

I would have flashed them my angry look (see above..) but it would have been too much for them to handle.

Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do about it?

Bearded Lady

So, I have decided on a new career path. The picture should give you a hint!! Kristina P. wrote about this, and with all the comments she had, I was glad to see that I am not alone.

I thought GUYS were the ones that were supposed to have the beards!! It is a very sneaky process. One day, you are washing your face or putting on your makeup... you feel something a little scratchy on your chin. You get really close to the mirror, or get the magnifier mirror and you see one lone black, coarse hair, just looking right back up at you with a little innocent grin. It's just so smug standing there, while you are completely oblivious to it's devious plans for facial domination.

You then proceed to grab the tweezers and pluck that sucker right out. You think "gotcha little fella" and go about your day with nary a thought about it again.

Before you know it, one day your hand grazes your chin for some unknown reason and KABLAM!!!! Your chin feels like you've been soaking it Rogaine!!!!! What the @$!&$?!?!?!?

Can you just hear the music from the shower scene in Psycho????? I am actually shuddering.

Now, my pretties, pair that experience up with PCOS. I am telling you, if I were brave enough to let it grow, I could sell it on the black market and be set for life.
